On Saturday, Nexus Lyngdal will introduce our audience to Warhammer 40K starting out with a panel covering basic painting techniques and a brief introduction to the game.
Additionally, representatives from Nexus will be present all weekend and host a Warhammer area for drop-in painting and play-opportunities for new and experienced Warhammer fans alike.
This is an open, free-for all activity. Nexus provides miniatures for both painting and playing, painting equipment and terrain.
Warhammer is a miniature tabletop battle game where players enact battles using miniature models of warriors and fighting vehicles. The warriors in the game includes a mixture of humans, aliens, and supernatural monsters – wielding futuristic weaponry and supernatural powers.
Players paint and customise their own miniature models/figurines for their armies, all with different stats and abilities, and use them to play out clashes on the tabletop battlefield.
The original Warhammer was released in 1983 and had a medieval theme but with added fantasy elements such as wizards, dragons, and magical spells. Warhammer 40k is was first released in 1987 and is set in the distant future. It’s the most popular battle game in the world.

Nexus Lyngdal, commonly known as just Nexus, is a political and religious nerd club for children and young people, based in Lyngdal, southern Norway (Sørlandet).
Their purpose is to make a space for those who feel like they might not fit in, as Sørlandet can be a brutal place for those whose interests are outside of popular hobbies like football, prayer houses and mopeds.
Nexus’ main focuses are Gaming, Warhammer, Cosplay, D&D and other niche hobbies but at Magicon they’ll be concentrating exclusively on Warhammer by hosting an introduction to Warhammer 40k. This includes painting of Warhammer figurines where attendees get to keep their very first figurine, opportunities to play against each other or our representatives, and receive training in how to play the game.
The panel is run by Tor Henrik, and their Ukrainian members Staz and Kseniia.
Hope to see as many of you as possible there!
