We wish to welcome all Magicon attendees to the Samurai exhibition at the Historisk Museum (Historical Museum). Experience real objects with impressively rich details from Japan’s proud Samurai history. The original armours at the exhibit are filled with aesthetic details that are pleasing to the eye. Get close to swords, majestic helmets and other accessories that the Samurais wore. The exhibition shows how the Samurais went from being brutal and feared warriors to becoming administrators with huge interest in art and culture. This is represented in the objects’ dynamic interaction between strength and elegance.
During both days at Magicon you’ll be able to try on real Samurai helmets and masks, and have your picture taken with them. Anne and Per Terje from Kulturhistorisk Museum are bringing two of each. Their presentation and panel provides an excellent opportunity to learn about what’s the truth and what’s myth when it comes to the rich and fascinating history of the Samurais.
